Toni – Audiophile device and app.

Tags

Toni is an innovative audio system which primarily consists of a Raspberry Pi driven piece of hardware and a perfectly tailored web application accessible by every WiFi compatible device like smartphones or tablets. The application's backend was intended to go along with a Raspberry Pi system but it flawlessly works with Mac OS X already.

The system features a function to categorically browse and play over 5000 global radio stations and a function to save, edit and prioritize own internet streams. In addition, it owns an Airplay and an intended USB mode.

The initial implementation was dedicated to a compact all-in-one box appearing in retro design inspired by old guitar amps.

Toni's web application is made with Node.js and thus completely written in JavaScript. With its interface based on AngularJS and Socket.io, it performs fast and light-weight while bringing together cutting-edge frameworks and technologies.
