Lingualark – Learn Chinese with NFC-Cards and your smart phone.
Tags
The project Lingualark combines a simple application for the Google Nexus S with traditional cardboard vocabulary cards.
Every card contains an NFC-tag with a distinct identification. When the phone is placed on top of one of the cards, the respective character appears on its screen, and the correct pronunciation of the word is played back.
One's own pronounciation of the word can be recorded and replayed for personal improvement. In addition there will be a short animation available, demonstrating how the character is properly written.
Lingualark incorporates the idea of cloud computing: The data for characters, audio and animations are stored on external servers, which makes the application easy to adapt and extend.
